How it works
We are a free quote-matching service, not a boiler installer. We do not survey, supply or fit boilers. We pass your enquiry to one Gas Safe registered boiler installer, and only if you agree.
Step 1: you fill in the form
The quote form asks for six things:
- your name;
- your phone number;
- your email address;
- the postcode of the property, so we know which area you are in;
- the type of boiler you are thinking about (combi, system, regular, or not sure yet);
- when you would like to start, from "as soon as possible" to "just researching costs".
It also has two tick boxes. One says you agree to us sharing your details with one local Gas Safe registered boiler installer. The other says you have read the privacy notice. We cannot pass on your enquiry without both.
Step 2: we pass it to one installer
We send your enquiry to one installer who covers your area. We do not send it to a list of firms, and we do not add you to a mailing list.
Step 3: the installer contacts you
The installer gets in touch to talk about your home and, if it suits you both, arrange a visit and a quote. Any contract for the work is between you and them, not us. You are under no obligation to accept any quote.
Check the installer yourself
The HSE says anyone paid to work on gas appliances in a home must be Gas Safe registered and competent for that type of work [S1]. Registered engineers carry an ID card, and the back of the card lists what they are qualified to work on [S1]. Enter the licence number from the card into the Gas Safe Register's "Check an Engineer" service to see the engineer's photo and qualifications [S2]. The HSE also gives the register's phone number, 0800 408 5500 [S1]. That is the register's number, not ours.
How we are paid
You never pay us. The installer may pay us for passing on enquiries. We say this so you know how the service is funded.
What to ask the installer
A few questions are worth asking whoever quotes:
- Are you registered with a competent person scheme, so you can certify the work for building regulations? gov.uk says a scheme installer gives you a certificate within 8 weeks of finishing [S3].
- Which paperwork will I get? The Energy Saving Trust says to keep the documents that show the system meets building regulations, for when you sell [S4].
- Does the price include flushing the system, a filter, new controls or a new flue? Our cost guide lists the extras people often forget.
- Is a combi, system or regular boiler the right type for this home?
